Earlier directory summary
Kagumo High School is in Nyeri County (Nyeri Town Constituency).
Kagumo High School is a boys boarding secondary school.
Kagumo High School traces its origins to Kagumo Primary School, opened in January 1933 at Gatitu, Nyeri, on the site of today’s Kagumo Teachers Training College, to train African artisans for the Native Industrial Training Depot at Kabete. A teacher-training college opened beside it in 1944, and a full secondary section followed in 1949. In 1951 Kagumo presented 18 students for the O-level examination, and all qualified for Makerere University College.
In 1960 the secondary section moved to a new site at Kiganjo, keeping the name Kagumo High School, while the primary school became Kiambuiri Primary School and the old site went to the teacher-training college. Kagumo became a national school in 2012.
Today it is a national boys’ boarding school at Kiganjo, Nyeri County.
